- 1. How was your time during juniors? When you start to thing about be a professional player?
My time during juniors started by my enjoying the tournament for the first year when I was 10 by a tournament in Germany.
When I won my first big junior event I wanted to become professional that was when I was 12
2. What is the European junior circuit like? Which tournament did you enjoy playing in the most? Who was your toughest opponent? Last year I took my youngest son, Vitor, to play in the Dutch Junior Open; your coach even helped him in one a match. The Frans Otten facilities are excellent; do you train there?
The circuit in Europe has had a big impact in my career because I’ve played so many players from so many countries. I mostly enjoyed the European junior open in cologne because that was my first tournament ever.
Sometimes i train in frans Otten with Juan Vargas
3. How does the Netherlands support youth and professional athletes? Is there any kind of assistance, such as paying for tournament registrations or travel?
Hahah the federation in the Netherlands doesn’t do anything for the players
I had to pay everything myself,
My membership, going to the world juniors in Australia
Even the world team for men all of us paid ourselves 😅
4.This is your third year coming to Brazil. Have you had the opportunity to visit any cities besides São Paulo? What did you like most here?
I love coming to Brazil, people I meet are very nice and friendly
Unfortunately I have not visited the city
But what I like the most is definitely the meat restaurants
5. The Olympics are approaching. How do we see the chances of having a Dutchman in Los Angeles?
About Olympics i really hope i could play them and I think if i work really hard it might be possible. So right now the only thing i can do is train hard work hard and do my best to have a chance to get in 🙏
